The American poker pro Matthew Weber won 2012 Punta Cana Poker Classic and with that $135,475. Weber is not only the first American champion of Punta Cana Poker Classic, but also the first ever non-Canadian who has been crowned champion of this famed tournament. The Main event took place at the Marvelous Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana. The US poker player bested 380 poker players. At day 4 Matthew Weber eliminated eight runners. The last one standing with Weber was Kelly Kellner, but a couple of lucky hands put Weber in front and Kellner became second on the 2012 Punta Cana Poker Classic Main Event.
