New York Governor Looks to Add 4 New Casinos

Last Friday, June 14th, the democratic governor Andrew Cuomo stated that he would like to see in New York state four new casinos — up from three — in initial expansion plans. Gov Cuomo seeks a deal with the legislature based on a constitutional amendment to legalize table games like roulette, poker and craps in New York.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo made the overture only a day after he announced a $408 million contract with the Seneca Nation of Indians on payments owed to the state. This will resolve a multiyear dispute over gambling revenue in the state.On Saturday, June 15th, Cuomo confirmed that a voter approval for the deal could be avoid.
