A Second Gold Bracelet For Monnette Won At World Series Of Poker

On Tuesday night, at the $5,000 buy-in Seven-Card Stud World Championship, John Monnette became first and won his second gold bracelet at the WSOP, and the prize money which he collected was $190,826. Monnette is a 30-year old professional poker player who won his first title last year, at the $2,500 Eight-Game Mix event.

It was a difficult competition in regards to the players around the tables, because almost half of them were former winners of gold bracelets at different championships. Eight of them were even former titleholder. His toughest competitor turned out to be Huu Vinh, but finally he finished fifth.

Monnette has an interesting nickname ‘Angry John’ due to his really serious behaviour at the table, but contrary to this, at the end of the night, Monnette was all smiles.
