Casino Conwoman Gets 15 years

Nancy Shanelle Naidoo was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Durban Regional Court in South Africa. Naidoo was accused in fraud and theft. She pleaded guilty to 29 charges, including robbery, extortion and fraud.

Nancy Shanell Naidoo stole not only cash, but also jewellery from people and gamblers while performing good luck or clensing rituals at a casino.

Naidoo has admitted all her crimes in a statement, which was read by her lawyer Hycenth Mlotshwa.

In one of her cases, a woman was robbed of jewellery worth R700 000 and Naidoo also took cash payments of R118 000 from the same old lady for performing a cleansing ceremony. Naidoo maintained that the lives of her son and her granddaughter were in danger and she will save them with a ritual.

Nancy Shanelle Naidoo committed all offences between 2007 and 2012.
