Cosmopolitan Sues A Fake Website

26.05.2012 | Antoan Tok

The Cosmopolitan, which is located in Las Vegas, opened a lawsuit towards a Chinese website with the claim that the last mentioned operates a bogus version.

The lawsuit was presented before the US District Court in Las Vegas, but failed to win last Tuesday. The Cosmopolitan wanted the other site to be removed or disabled, because it provides misleading information.

Of course, The Cosmopolitan thought that the respective website has already made a profit or is intending to do it, using their famous trademark. There are even some features in the site, like ‘booking a room or becoming a member’, which is an absolute fraud according to Cosmopolitan, with the only aim to gain some money.

There was a phone number published in the site, as a contact for some jobs available. But when they called the number, there was no one answering on the other side, only a recorded message.
