Robert Steele Discussing Casino Gambling

This Friday, April 12, Robert Steele, who wrote "The Curse: Big-Time Gambling's Seduction of a Small New England Town", will discuss Connecticut casino gaming. The meeting is organized by the Men’s Club of New Canaan and it will take place in the Morrill Hall at St. Mark Church at 10 a.m.

The novel of Steele "The Curse” is set against the explosion of the casino gambling that hit Connecticut back in the 1990s. At the time, in the southeastern part of the state, two Indian tribes built two biggest casinos in the world. Robert Steele’s book is coming at a time when Connecticut's two mega-casinos are facing the prospect of new competition from New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
