Second World Series Of Poker Title For The 22-year Ukrainian

Imagine a situation when someone new sits down at a WSOP tournament, playing against many of the world’s top players and he does not even know what the rules of the game are. What are the chances for this person to make it to the final table and win the tournament? Perhaps you would not bet on such a person, but actually there are such natural talents.

One of them is the Ukrainian, Oleksii Kovalchuk, 22-year-old professional poker player, born in Kiev. His name was heard for the first time exactly one year ago when he made a remarkable victory in the $2,500 buy-in Six-Handed No-Limit Hold`em event. It was then when he appeared at the World Series of Poker and he won his first gold bracelet. Usually many first-time winners are not heard or seen again, but this is not the case with Kovalchuk.

This year he won the $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low and collected $228,014 in prize money and his second gold bracelet. This makes him the first Ukrainian with multiple titles in the WSOP history.
